<ul>
<li>We are looking for a Propulsion Engineer, Design to enhance our Propulsion Development team’s capabilities. This role is critical in developing and optimizing advanced propulsion systems to meet our aggressive and innovative product development goals. You will be responsible for developing and qualifying air breathing propulsion systems (High speed rotating machines) along with supporting flight testing as needed.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL DO</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own detailed design of individual engine components from conceptual phase into production.</li>
<li>Drive prototype testing and design of experiments to optimize designs prior to release.</li>
<li>Design with a heavy focus on Design for manufacturability, assembly and cost, at high volume production rates.</li>
<li>Own architectural layouts and design trade studies for future products.</li>
<li>Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, including process improvement, efficiency improvement and development of data analysis techniques.</li>
<li>Hold full ownership of the assigned components, sub-assemblies or Top-level product.</li>
<li>Own knowledge management and full lifecycle support for internal and external customers.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>BS or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering</li>
<li>2+ years of experience designing mechanical parts (CAD) in NX or Solidworks. Understanding of manufacturing methods (Castings, Machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding etc.)</li>
<li>Proficient in mechanical drawings, ASME Y14.5 GDT.</li>
<li>Experience with release management in Teamcenter or equivalent PLM systems.</li>
<li>Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop. Working knowledge of machine safety and shop safety protocols.</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage product complexity and associated requirements.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain / maintain U.S. Security Clearance.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience developing High speed machines for Aerospace or Automotive applications.</li>
<li>Experience launching product in high volume production.</li>
<li>Proven track record of working in multidisciplinary teams.</li>
<li>Knowledge of rotor dynamics, Aerodynamics and engine vibration.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of engine materials and selection.</li>
<li>Detailed assembly stackup development.</li>
