Built on Anduril’s field-proven Menace and Voyager systems, and powered by the company’s Lattice orchestration framework and distributed Fabric and Data Mesh, the platform allows warfighters, allies, and partners to deploy applications, share data, and make decisions at machine speed—even when disconnected. <br><br>The Connected Warfare team is rapidly scaling and is looking for engineering leaders to drive the strategy and execution of our foundational that supports a wide range of connected warfare applications, from early prototypes to customer incubation to world-wide release.</p> <p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer with deep systems experience to build and operate large-scale, software-defined systems that tightly integrate software and hardware. This role is for someone who is highly hands-on, writes production code daily, and enjoys working close to the metal while still thinking at fleet and platform scale. You will design, build, and operate the foundational systems that manage, observe, update, and control distributed fleets of devices and services in real-world environments.<strong><br></strong></p> <h4><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Design and implement low-level and systems software that interfaces directly with hardware, operating systems, and networking layers</li> <li>Build scalable fleet management systems for provisioning, configuration, updates, health monitoring, and lifecycle management</li> <li>Develop observability infrastructure including metrics, logs, traces, and health models for large distributed systems</li> <li>Own services end-to-end: architecture, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence</li> <li>Debug complex issues across software, OS, and hardware boundaries</li> <li>Collaborate closely with hardware, platform, and product teams to deliver integrated solutions</li> <li>Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring</li> </ul> <h4>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4> <ul> <li>10+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent depth</li> <li>Strong background in operating systems concepts including processes, memory, filesystems, scheduling, and networking</li> <li>Experience building systems that connect software and hardware such as embedded systems, edge computing, robotics, or infrastructure platforms</li> <li>Proven ability to design and operate large-scale distributed systems</li> <li>Hands-on experience with fleet management, device orchestration, or infrastructure control planes</li> <li>Deep understanding of observability including metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and system health at scale</li> <li>Strong coding skills in systems-oriented languages such as C++, Rust, Go, or Python</li> <li>Comfortable operating in production environments and responding to real-world failures</li> <li>Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance ...
