We offer a paid 12-week internship, starting in Summer 2026.</p> <p>As an Embedded Software Engineer Intern, you’ll be assigned a scoped project that strengthens our embedded stack such as an incremental feature, a performance improvement, or an automation enhancement to help us ship high‑quality software across devices.</p> <p> </p> <h3>What you’ll be doing</h3> <ul> <li> <p>Own a project in the embedded space; examples include implementing a small feature, improving memory/performance, or adding automated tests for a system module.</p> </li> <li> <p>Work with C++ on Linux‑based systems; use debugging and analysis tools to reproduce, isolate, and fix issues.</p> </li> <li> <p>Collaborate with engineers across firmware, platform services, and quality to ensure robust delivery.</p> </li> </ul> <p> </p> <h3>We’re excited if you have</h3> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.</li> <li>C++ coding skills (modern C++ exp. is a major plus!) </li> <li>Experience of developing/debugging on Linux based embedded platforms </li> <li>Understanding of Linux kernel concepts, Multi-threading primitives, Linux tools, libraries and open source development </li> <li>Scripting skills (Python/Bash)</li> <li>Explored practical applications of AI technologies and learning new tools</li> <li>Strong problem-solving and technical communication abilities</li> <li>Proactive mindset with passion for continuous learning and fast iteration</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p> </p> <h3 style="font-family: GothamBold,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"><strong>Our Hybrid Work Approach</strong></h3> <p>Roku fosters an inclusive and collaborative environment where teams work in the office Monday through Thursday.
