Senior Backend Engineer - Enterprise Financial Systems

<p>Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love.</p> <p>We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Business Technology Transformation (BTT) team and provide much-needed software engineering expertise across a variety of groups. This is a high-impact, high-scope position with the opportunity to directly influence Toast's bottom line. We are looking for someone with a traditional software engineering background to join our growing team.</p> <p><strong>About this </strong><strong><em>roll</em></strong><strong>* (Responsibilities) </strong></p> <ul> <li>Work on large-scope, high-impact projects that will fundamentally affect the business.</li> <li>Work closely with product teams across multiple groups.</li> <li>Implement and maintain new and legacy integrations across numerous platforms.</li> <li>Plan and execute the integration of new applications with existing systems and software.</li> <li>Draft technical designs, engineering plans, and testing plans to support integration projects.</li> <li>Develop and automate application end-to-end or unit testing to ensure stability.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Do you have the right </strong><strong><em>ingredients*</em></strong><strong>? (Requirements)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent</li> <li>Experience with technologies appropriate for the Billing and Invoicing, Payments and Collections, or Accounting and Tax teams.</li> <li>Experience delivering high-quality, reliable services to production using languages such as Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages.</li> <li>Experience working with REST, XML, and JSON.</li> <li>Strong understanding of data manipulation and distribution.</li> <li>Excellent version control, QA skills, and attention to detail.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus ingredients (a pinch of salt)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Workato or a similar iPaaS.</li> <li>Exposure to distributed systems, scaling challenges, SaaS, SQL, JS, Pulsar is a plus.</li> <li>Experience with Enterprise Applications like Salesforce, NetSuite, or Zuora Billing.</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p data-pm-slice="1 1 []"><strong>AI at Toast</strong></p> <p>At Toast we’re Hungry to Build and Learn.
