The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.</p></div><p><span data-sheets-root="1">The Strategy BizOps team drives and executes against the company’s go-to-market strategy. We leverage quantitative and qualitative analysis to create long-term business strategies and help execute on Waymo’s commercial deployment. The team is analytically driven, with a proactive mentality, focused on finding and delivering on high impact projects.</span></p>
<p>This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Senior Director of Strategy BizOps and Product Data Science.</p>
<p>You will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Be a foundational member for our Japan team and you will be responsible for helping to build and execute our Japan go-to-market (GTM) strategy, tackling the most complex analytical and operational challenges. You will analyze ambiguous problems, build processes from the ground up, and lead cross-functional projects that bring our GTM strategy to life.</li>
<li>Conduct deep-dive market analysis, competitive landscaping, and quantitative modeling to support strategic decisions, including opportunity prioritization, pricing scenarios, and making difficult trade-offs </li>
<li>Lead and manage high-priority, cross-functional initiatives by collaborating effectively with Product, Partnerships, Policy, Regulatory, Operations, and many other teams </li>
<li>Define, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Japan business, translating data into actionable insights for leadership</li>
<li>Act as a primary bridge between the Japan-based team and global teams at Waymo HQ. Help Waymo achieve long term success in Japan with the most thoughtful approach - influence global thinking with a deep understanding of local nuances. </li>
<li>Support the evaluation, negotiation, and management of strategic partnerships. Can effectively represent Waymo in high stake external meetings with the government and strategic partners</li>

<p>You have:</p>
<ul>
<li>6-10 years of experience in a highly analytical and strategic role, such as:
<ul>
<li>Management Consulting</li>
<li>Investment Banking</li>
<li>Strategy Business Operations</li>
<li>Corporate Strategy</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Full business proficiency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) and capable of presenting up-leveled insights for executive audiences</li>
<li>Exceptional quantitative and analytical modeling skills (e.g., advanced Excel / Google Sheets, advanced Google Slides) and the ability to build data-driven business cases</li>
<li>Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects from start to finish</li>
<li>Strong relationship building and communication skills</li>
</ul>
<p>We prefer:</p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in a high-growth technology, mobility, or AV company</li>
<li>Direct experience with international market entry, product launches, or scaling a new business</li>
<li>Deep understanding of the Japanese business landscape, culture, and regulatory environment (especially in mobility or technology)</li>
<li>Experience working in both US and Japanese companies</li>
