By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.</p></div><h3><strong>What is The Role</strong></h3> <p>Elastic is hiring a <strong>Senior UX Designer</strong> to help design and evolve <strong>Elastic.co</strong>, our flagship website and a critical surface for product discovery, education, and conversion.</p> <p>This is not a “page production” role. You’ll own complex, content-rich experiences end-to-end—from problem framing and information architecture to interaction design, validation, and implementation partnership. You’ll operate with strong autonomy, systems thinking, and the ability to influence decisions across <strong>Product Marketing, PM, Content, SEO, Localization, UX Engineering, and Engineering</strong>.</p> <h3><strong>What You Will Be Doing</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Create and improve scalable web experiences across Elastic.co by designing reusable <strong>foundations, components, patterns, and modules</strong>.<br><br></li> <li>Lead work end-to-end using a structured approach (e.g., <strong>Double Diamond</strong>): <strong>Discover</strong> insights and context, <strong>Define</strong> the problem and success criteria, <strong>Develop</strong> solutions through iteration, and <strong>Deliver</strong> through implementation partnership and UX QA.<br><br></li> <li>Define interaction behavior, <strong>variants and states</strong>, including responsive behavior and accessibility considerations.<br><br></li> <li>Apply strong UX fundamentals to ensure solutions support <strong>clarity, hierarchy, usability, and consistency</strong> across experiences.<br><br></li> <li>Apply visual design fundamentals within system constraints to ensure high-quality UI craft (layout, spacing, typography, color, and component composition).<br><br></li> <li>Frame problems effectively by aligning on <strong>user goals, key tasks, constraints, and success criteria</strong> before execution.<br><br></li> <li>Validate and iterate using lightweight methods (heuristic reviews, usability feedback, and data signals) to improve usability over time.<br><br></li> <li>Partner closely with Engineering and UX Engineering to ensure <strong>design-to-build alignment</strong> in a component-based workflow.<br><br></li> <li>Produce clear specs and documentation (usage guidance, do/don’t, and content structure guidance) so others can confidently adopt shared patterns.<br><br></li> <li>Identify and reduce design debt by consolidating duplicates and improving consistency across the site.</li> </ul> <h3>What You Bring</h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of UX/Product Design experience, including meaningful work on <strong>component-driven web/product design</strong> (design system experience is a plus).<br><br></li> <li>A strong portfolio demonstrating both <strong>UX craft and UI craft</strong>: reusable patterns/components, clear hierarchy, usability-driven decisions, and polished execution.<br><br></li> <li>Comfort running work through an end-to-end UX process (e.g., <strong>Double Diamond: Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver</strong>) and adapting based on constraints.<br><br></li> <li>Strong command of core UX principles: usability, information hierarchy, interaction design, user flows, content structure, and heuristic-based evaluation.<br><br></li> <li>Strong visual design fundamentals: typography, color, spacing, layout, visual hierarchy, and consistency—with the ...
