Bring yours to Block.</p> <p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>The Risk Analytics Engineering team at Block delivers data-driven insights and infrastructure that power regulatory excellence, risk management, and compliance operations. We do this through building robust data pipelines, developing advanced analytics models, and enabling compliance stakeholders to self-serve their data needs. Our Engineers own core data strategy and infrastructure, impacting everything from data architecture and modeling to tooling and optimization.</p> <p>You'll be supporting our Compliance Data Science Analytics team, which has evolved to support unprecedented demand from our regulatory and compliance operations. With request volume reaching all-time highs, we need an individual with a mission to maximize workflow automation and drive enablement by building new tools and infrastructure.</p> <p><strong>You Will</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead cross-team initiatives to build scalable, widely used data pipelines that drive insights across the organization and support regulatory decision-making</li> <li>Build on and promote an effective data strategy, including developing processes, policy, and infrastructure to help standardize compliance and risk metric definitions</li> <li>Develop and own key components of the data pipeline, both creating new and optimizing existing data models, translating compliance signals and regulatory requirements to analytical insights</li> <li>Collaborate with stakeholders, platform/tooling teams, and compliance partners to build scalable data solutions that drive regulatory response and risk mitigation</li> <li>Enable others to efficiently manage data assets by building automation tooling, self-serve reporting tools, and reusable data solutions that make it simpler and faster to work with compliance data</li> </ul> <p><strong>You Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Background/knowledge in Computer Science, Applied Math, Engineering, Statistics, or something comparable</li> <li>Experience with financial data and/or compliance/regulatory reporting preferred</li> <li>7+ years of industry experience building complex, scalable ETLs for a variety of different business and product use cases</li> <li>A strategic mindset that drives technical excellence while building consensus with multiple stakeholders and partners</li> <li>An interest in advancing Block's mission of economic empowerment through trust and transparency - this should be something that legitimately excites you</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technologies We Use and Teach</strong></p> <ul> <li>SQL (Snowflake, BigQuery, MySQL, etc.)</li> <li>Python</li> <li>Airflow and Prefect</li> <li>dbt</li> <li>Looker / Mode</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>We're working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
