We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.</p> <h4><strong>The Role</strong></h4> <p>The Compliance Team works to protect Square and its customers while enabling safe growth across our ecosystems. Square Australia’s Compliance Team is seeking a Deputy Chief Compliance Officer Compliance Management System Manager (DCO) to play a key role in operating and strengthening the compliance framework across the business.</p> <p>Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer – Australia, you will operate as a senior individual contributor with significant autonomy and influence. You will be responsible for the effectiveness and ongoing maturity of Square Australia’s Compliance Management System, ensuring it supports regulatory obligations, business priorities, and Square’s risk appetite.</p> <p>This role is well suited to an experienced compliance professional who can work independently, exercise sound judgement, and influence senior stakeholders across the organisation. While this is not a people-management role, you will be expected to lead through expertise, strong partnerships, and delivery.</p> <p><span class="Yjhzub">This role is fully remote based in Australia only.</span></p> <h4><strong>You Will</strong></h4> <p><strong>Compliance Management System Ownership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and operate Square Australia’s Compliance Management System, ensuring it remains effective, scalable, and aligned with regulatory expectations and business needs.</li> <li>Design, implement, and enhance compliance frameworks covering obligations management, risk assessment, monitoring, training programs, issue management, and reporting.</li> <li>Act as Deputy to the Chief Compliance Officer, providing senior-level advice, support, and coverage across compliance matters as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Risk Assessment Regulatory Change</strong></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and where appropriate lead compliance risk assessments and maturity reviews, identifying gaps and driving pragmatic remediation and uplift initiatives.</li> <li>Manage regulatory change processes, ensuring new and changing obligations are identified, assessed, and embedded into business operations.</li> <li>Provide risk-based advice and credible challenges to the business, influencing decision-making through expertise rather than authority.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Regulatory Engagement Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare high-quality compliance reporting for senior leadership, governance forums, and regulators.</li> <li>Support regulatory engagement activities, including preparation of materials and responses to regulatory requests.</li> <li>Contribute to maintaining constructive and transparent relationships with regulators.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Collaboratio ...
