Senior Software Engineer, Guest & Host (Partner Integrations)

Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.</span></p></div><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;"><strong>The Community You Will Join: </strong></span></p> <p>The Partner Integration team is responsible for integrating new business partners and functionality into Airbnb’s product. We work to improve both the supply and demand side of Airbnb’s Stays, Experiences and Services businesses through thoughtfully designed product experiences for Guest and Hosts.</p> <p>We recently launched exciting new features such as grocery delivery and airport transfers, as well as integrations with smart lock providers, rewards programs and more. We are looking to rapidly expand our offerings.</p> <p>You will be working closely with a strong, fast-moving team integrating new product functionality into the Guest experience of Airbnb’s core product. This role also interacts with a large cross-functional team of partners across product and design, business and partnerships, customer support and more.</p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;"><strong>The Difference You Will Make:</strong></span></p> <p>As an Engineer on the Partner Integrations team, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Contribute directly to company growth in new areas as we explore partnerships outside of Airbnb.</li> <li>Lead projects end-to-end – from working with partners directly, to clicking that launch button.</li> <li>Identify patterns that allow us to scale new partnerships quickly in the future.</li> <li>Have attention to detail about the user experience.</li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;"><strong>A Typical Day: </strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Design, write and test new APIs and integrations with partners.</li> <li>Write documents to propose, align and document changes to the system.</li> <li>Debug external integrations and join the team on-call rotation.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product, Program, Design and Engineers, and directly with external partners.</li> <li>Provide input in team roadmap and technical direction.</li> <li>Build large scale backend solutions that are efficient, reliable, performant and scalable.</li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;"><strong>Your Expertise:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>6+ years of experience</li> <li>Experience designing scalable and resilient large-scale service-oriented architectures</li> <li>Experience leading projects</li> <li>Previous experience working with third party API’s is a plus.</li> <li>Previous experience with authentication or secure signing mechanisms is a plus.</li> <li>Passionate about reliability, efficiency, availability, and system quality.</li> <li>Good judgment in making and communicating tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality.</li> <li>High sense of user empathy and the ability to identify and solve for user needs and friction.</li> <li>End-to-end mentality that transcends team boundaries and helps find globally optimal solutions.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the engineering organization.</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Your Location:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">This position is US - Remote Eligible.
