Staff Software Engineer, AI Authoring

You will focus on the Editor experience development, actively contributing to code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how developers interact with AI-powered workflows in the Unity ecosystem, guiding both the technical direction and the team culture of a product at the heart of Unity’s next-generation developer experience.</p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and implement sustainable, scalable solutions for Unity AI Products. Push the boundary of Unity Editor with cutting-edge AI Agent technologies.</li> <li>Drive engineering excellence through software design, coding standards, and scalable architecture.</li> <li>Contribute to high-level technical strategy and architectural discussions of Unity AI and wider Unity Products.</li> <li>Make balanced technical decisions, aligning short-term delivery needs with long-term product health.</li> <li>Partner closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to define and deliver the product roadmap.</li> <li>Facilitate collaboration across the broader Unity AI and Editor organizations.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we're looking for</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong development background with hands-on Unity Editor development and familiarity with Unity APIs.</li> <li>Experience building and shipping complex, user-facing software products at scale</li> <li>Proven ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and organizations</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Ability to translate business and user needs into technical solutions</li> <li>Familiarity with agile development practices.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You might also have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, natural language processing, or conversational AI</li> <li>Background in developer tools or productivity software</li> <li>Experience building and deploying AI systems in production</li> <li>Experience building and shipping a game</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional information</strong></p> <ul> <li>International relocation support is not available for this position</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits</strong><br>At Unity, we want our team members to thrive.
