Our team focus is to ensure that our developers are enabled, self-service, that everything about our infrastructure is automated and that our services are highly reliable and scalable. Cloud Reliability team members will engage directly with development teams on helping them become empowered and effective at delivering on our Infrastructure.</p> <h3>About the role</h3> <p>As a Staff DevOps Engineer within the Infrastructure Engineering team, you are essential in automating and scaling the systems and services that power our streaming platform. You will work with our DevOps team, delivery teams and lead projects related to infrastructure automation, scaling, CICD, driving them forward to completion and ensuring that the platform processes, automation and best practices are being followed. In collaboration with other engineers, you develop tools and systems that support services and facilitate high-quality software delivery and architecture / infrastructure. You are expected to be highly collaborative working across teams to understand the needs, establish best practices and automate them whenever possible. You will also play a key role in partnering with our development teams and understanding their needs and assisting them in their journey.</p> <p>You will report to the Senior Manager, Cloud Reliability - Infrastructure Engineering. We are considering applicants for our Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA offices. We work a hybrid schedule, in-office 3 days a week.</p> <h3>About you</h3> <p>The ideal candidate for the Staff DevOps Engineer role has a strong background in DevOps, automation, infrastructure as code and enabling software engineers to deliver independently and safely at scale. You have experience in building and scaling high-availability systems, with a focus on operational excellence. This role involves leading and mentoring other engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continually improving our technology platform and infrastructure. Your ability to excel in a collaborative environment sets an example for fellow engineers, contributing to a culture of high quality and standards in all aspects of our work.</p> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least a Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar.</li> <li>12+ years of relevant experience in DevOps and infrastructure management.</li> <li>8+ years working in production environments, combining DevOps and software engineering.</li> <li>5+ years of experience managing containerized infrastructure in ECS or Kubernetes.</li> <li>Proficiency in automation, creating reusable patterns and solutions.</li> <li>Expertise in GitOps practices and CI/CD, including tools like GHA CodeDeploy and infrastructure automation within CI/CD.</li> <li>5+ years experience in AWS and its major services such as ECS, S3, SQS, Lambda, containerization, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Pulumi and Terraform.</li> <li>Proficient in programming in TypeScript with familiarity of other languages such as Go or Python.</li> <li>Familiarity with relational databases ...
