We encourage professional development to ensure you bring innovative ideas to our products while satisfying your own intellectual curiosity.</p> <p>What you’ll do<br><br>• Design, develop, and maintain scalable messaging solutions using Kafka<br>• Manage Kafka clusters, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting<br>• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate Kafka messaging solutions into applications<br>• Optimize Kafka performance and ensure high availability and reliability of messaging systems<br>• Implement security best practices for Kafka, including encryption and access control<br>• Develop and maintain documentation for Kafka systems and related processes<br>• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers<br>• Stay up to date with the latest developments in messaging technologies and propose improvements<br>• Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production systems as needed<br><br>What’s required</p> <p>• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field<br>• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in messaging systems, with at least 5 years focused on Kafka<br>• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data streaming concepts<br>• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala<br>• Experience with Kafka ecosystem components like Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and KSQL<br>• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)<br>• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment<br>• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment<br>• Commitment to the highest ethical standards</p> <p>About Point72</p> <p>Point72 is a leading global alternative investment firm led by Steven A.
