Come join us.</p></div><h2><strong>Help streamline client’s customs processes</strong></h2> <h2><strong>The opportunity:</strong></h2> <p>Flexport is experiencing massive growth with 3000+ Flexporters across 14 global offices and warehouses, and we’re just getting started.</p> <p>With revenue growing at breakneck speed, Flexport is looking for a <strong>Senior Customs Associate</strong> to help shape our customs team in Antwerp, Belgium. <strong>This role will start in Amsterdam </strong>for the first ~6 months until we set our Belgian Customs entity. This is the perfect position for an experienced customs declarant with a background in customs who is detail-oriented, process-oriented, and loves to build! If you are looking at the next step in your career and want to be part of our customs rocketship, this could well be the career move for you! </p> <p>The position will have you working alongside and learning from some of the smartest people in the customs logistics industry as we challenge the status quo and reduce the friction in global trade and showcase clients how to simplify their customs flow.</p> <h2><strong>What you'll do: </strong></h2> <ul> <li>Be comfortable completing Belgium Customs declarations to a high standard</li> <li>Help to onboard new customers build operational SOPs.</li> <li>Develop operational processes, see a problem, and fix it</li> <li>Work with the sales teams to provide high-level guidance on all things customs to prospecting clients.</li> <li>Help onboard and mentor new hires </li> <li>Think outside the box and find new ways of working that challenge the norm. </li> <li>Lead client discussion on high-level customs topic discussions around classification, origin, and valuation.</li> <li>Help build customs SOPs</li> <li>Customer-focused - Provide high-level customer service to our customers and work with various stakeholders across different industries. </li> <li>Work in a team of customs professionals and help drive a team environment</li> <li>Contribute to projects to build new tech, implement new service offerings and manage different workflows. </li> <li>Collaborate with internal External stakeholders in the development of operational efficiencies whilst being customer centric. </li> </ul> <h2><strong>You candidate must be able to demonstrate they have:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>A true passion for everything customs and compliance - keeping up to date on updates and being a member of specific trade forums. </li> <li>Experience with using customs softwares *bonus points if you have used AEB</li> </ul> <h2><strong><em>Minimum of 5 years of current experience in customs forwarding.</em></strong></h2> <ul> <li>A strong knowledge within the Belgium customs market.</li> <li>A proven track record of building processes, implementing new ideas and a passion for thinking outside of the box. </li> <li>Familiarity with Customs product classification, origin , valuation and the EU tariff.</li> <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.</li> <li>A problem solver at heart. </li> <li>Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason requi ...
