<p><strong>💼 What You’ll Do</strong></p>
<p>As a <strong>Lead Health Information Specialist (LHIS)</strong>, you will play a critical role in supporting daily operations and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of medical information. This role combines hands-on Release of Information (ROI) work with leadership support, training, and team coordination.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Providing call support and assisting with ROI-related inquiries</li>
<li>Processing medical record requests accurately and confidentially in compliance with HIPAA</li>
<li>Assisting the Supervisor with inventory management, including Healthsource queue oversight and prioritization of urgent requests</li>
<li>Serving as a subject-matter resource for team members on ROI workflows, EMR navigation, SOPs, and best practices</li>
<li>Supporting client and internal escalations with timely follow-up and clear communication</li>
<li>Assisting with training and onboarding of new hires, including mentoring and coaching</li>
<li>Facilitating team training sessions and ongoing education to reinforce compliance and quality standards</li>
<li>Performing data entry, faxing, scanning, and other administrative duties as needed</li>
<li>Maintaining professionalism and effective communication with patients, providers, and clinical staff</li>
<li>Supporting overall team productivity and quality goals</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>🎓 Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED</li>
<li>Ability to work on-site daily in <strong>Washington, DC</strong></li>
<li>Willingness and ability to travel locally on a weekly basis as needed</li>
<li>Prior experience in healthcare, medical records, HIM, or Release of Information (ROI) <strong>required</strong></li>
<li>Supervisory or lead experience <strong>strongly preferred</strong></li>
<li>Proficiency with computers, email systems, and standard office equipment</li>
<li>Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements</li>
<li>Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism</li>
</ul>
