From fulfilling a single patient’s request for their medical records to powering the AI revolution in healthcare, Datavanters are building the future of how data is connected and used to improve health. <br><br>By joining Datavant today, you’re stepping onto a driven and highly collaborative team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare.</p></div><p><strong>You Will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Draft, negotiate, and advise cross-functional teams on a wide variety of commercial agreements with a focus on commercial agreements for Datavant’s Legal Insurance and Provider business units, including contracts for new business development initiatives, business associate agreements, data agreements, consulting agreements, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and NDAs </li> <li>Advise on legal and commercial issues arising from the development, deployment, and commercialization of AI-enabled products and services, including risk allocation, data usage, data rights, privacy laws, IP ownership, and evolving regulatory and product considerations </li> <li>Provide thoughtful and practical product, business, and legal counseling on various legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to product features, including AI-enabled products and services, commercial transactions, and general operations</li> <li>Manage and resolve complicated issues related to commercial deals, and drive alignment with various cross-functional teams</li> <li>Own the entire contracting cycle--from initial draft to execution--and collaborate with business and product teams to drive contract negotiations to timely and successful completion</li> <li>Work cross-functionally to develop and implement internal contracting processes and resources that support Datavant’s growing Legal Insurance business unit </li> <li>Develop familiarity with internal departments and the Company’s business practices to help identify and manage risk related to contracts and accurately and clearly communicate the meaning of contract terms and associated risks as they relate to the business</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Will Bring to the Table:</strong></p> <ul> <li>J.D., with strong academic credentials and membership in at least one U.S. state bar</li> <li>7+ years’ commercial or corporate experience in-house or at a law firm</li> <li>Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with ability to advocate for a position while maintaining a collaborative and open-minded approach.</li> <li>Highly organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and diligent</li> <li>Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements for technology-enabled or AI-driven products or services in a fast-moving commercial environment </li> <li>Experience and knowledge of U.S. healthcare and privacy laws, including HIPAA and data privacy rights and related issues </li> <li>Ability to work on multiple issues simultaneously and to set appropriate priorities with clients and to deliver results efficiently</li> <li>Proven ability to provide entrepreneurial, pragmatic, business-oriented advice, with a dedication to superior customer service</li> <li>Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the job</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Points For:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Commercial transaction experience with healthcare provider contracting with significant experience drafting, negotiating and managing commercial deals for a healthcare technology company (either in-house or at a law firm.)</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><span data- ...
