Senior Accountant, Revenue & Automation

With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry. </strong></h3> <p>SeatGeek is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team with a primary focus on revenue accounting, close execution, and process automation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced close environment and is equally excited about improving how close and revenue processes scale through automation, data, and AI-enabled tools.</p> <p>This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting. You will play a critical role in executing the monthly close while also helping modernize revenue and inventory accounting workflows in a high-volume marketplace business.</p> <h3><strong>What you'll do</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Own and execute revenue and inventory related close activities as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process</li> <li>Prepare, review, and reconcile close schedules with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and documentation</li> <li>Reduce manual close effort by identifying opportunities to automate reconciliations, journal entries, and large spreadsheet-based models</li> <li>Leverage data warehouse outputs and reporting tools to support close analytics, variance analysis, and tie-outs</li> <li>Ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including complex and bespoke commercial agreements</li> <li>Support inventory accounting processes related to ticket brokerage activities, including cost recognition, reserves, and reconciliations</li> <li>Support audit requests related to revenue, inventory, and close processes</li> <li>Incorporate new products, business models, or commercial terms into existing revenue accounting processes</li> <li>Partner with Business Technology, Data, and Engineering teams to design, test, and implement automation solutions</li> <li>Support management to complete special projects and ad-hoc reporting</li> <li>Communicate regularly with your manager and teammates, providing proactive updates and surfacing questions early</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What you have</strong></h3> <ul> <li>3+ years of accounting experience with significant hands-on close execution responsibility (Big 4 experience strongly preferred)</li> <li>Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, with an emphasis on revenue recognition</li> <li>Experience with marketplace, eCommerce, or inventory-based businesses is a strong plus</li> <li>Strong interest in automation, AI-enabled workflows, and process optimization</li> <li>Comfort working with large and complex spreadsheets, with a desire to streamline or replace them</li> <li>Familiarity with querying data warehouses and reading SQL.
