Well… you might just be in the right place!</p> <p>Financial Services at Lightspeed is looking for a Data Analytics Manager to lead the Data function in North America and grow our technical team within the Financial Services organization.</p> <p>Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will help us lead, mentor and grow a high-performing data engineering team and cultivate an inclusive, inspiring working culture. You will lead the team in developing the essential infrastructure and artifacts needed for our teams across Lightspeed to gain deeper business insights and drive superior decision-making, particularly around Financial Services.</p> <p>We are looking for a strategic leader who can get into the weeds: you won't be coding daily, but you bring deep, architect-level data modelling expertise to design scalable systems, review code, and guide the team's technical execution. You have a proven track record of supporting, mentoring, leading and growing a data team, and of delivering reliable, robust and highly available data models supporting data pipelines. You enjoy problem-solving and removing blockers to the team’s progress and have experience collaborating with Product teams and stakeholders like Finance, Risk and Operations. You are an effective and clear communicator who can direction-set and track team delivery in a distributed, fast-moving and rapidly changing agile environment.</p> <p>For this role, you should be located in Canada, and able to work within EST/EDT hours. We offer a choice of fully remote, partially remote or fully office-based work environments (in cities with local offices).</p> <p><strong>What you’ll be responsible for</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Technical Leadership over Administration: This is not a pure people-management role; you will actively own the technical roadmap, architectural design, and complex problem-solving alongside your team.</li> <li>Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and the semantic layer, ensuring our BI architecture supports long-term business growth</li> <li>Identify root causes of recurring data issues and implement long-term systemic solutions improvements across tooling, processes, and upstream data capture</li> <li>Lead and guide the team in architectural whiteboarding sessions and help untangle complex problems, establish best practices for data modeling and overall quality</li> <li>Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across functions - Product Engineering, Risk, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Security to create a clear vision and data strategy</li> <li>Support team professional development through 1:1s, performance reviews, feedback, goal setting, and promotions.</li> <li>Communicate team progress and status to senior leadership and other stakeholders.</li> <li>Finding and hiring top talent for your team and the wider organization</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll be bringing to the team:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience leading a team of Data/Analytics Engineers building a scalable Data BI Platform for critical functions in the company</li> <li>Deep technical expertise in data modelling warehousing architectures</li> <li>Expert in SQL and have experience in Python/JavaScript or other programming languages. </li> <li>Strong skills in stakeholder management - understanding addressing their needs</li> <li>Solid written verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Inspirational leadership to hire, mentor and grow the team members. </li> <li>Strong outcome-driven mindset. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Some additional things that would be a bonus</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in the FinTech domain</li> <li>Experience in GCP</li> <li>Experience in ML/MLOps or Data Science</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A problem-solver who embraces tackling complexity and removing roadblocks</li> <li>An inspiring leader and ...
