We build a resilient messaging platform that sends messages accurately, compliantly, and at scale, with outcome tracking that powers deliverability reporting, replay, and operational insight.</p> <p>As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and evolution of distributed systems that power Attentive’s messaging infrastructure.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What You’ll Accomplish</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant systems that reliably deliver billions of messages weekly across SMS/RCS, email, and push channels</li> <li>Anticipate the future needs of the messaging platform and proactively design solutions that support growth, new channels, and evolving compliance requirement</li> <li>Serve as a technical connector across engineering, product, infrastructure, and partner teams to deliver high-quality, high-impact platform capabilities</li> <li>Lead and contribute to company-wide engineering initiatives, including platform reliability, infrastructure modernization, and operational excellence</li> <li>Provide technical leadership and mentorship, helping engineers grow while reinforcing best practices around system design, testing, and production readiness</li> <li>Improve system observability, performance, and resiliency, reducing operational risk and improving customer trust</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your Expertise</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a deep focus on designing and operating high-throughput, distributed backend services.</li> <li>Mastery of at least one modern backend language (e.g., Java, Go, or Python) and a strong grasp of object-oriented design, API development, and performance optimization.</li> <li>Deep understanding of messaging patterns, including hands-on experience with streams, queues, idempotency, and robust failure-handling strategies.</li> <li>Proven track record of architecting secure, reliable systems and maintaining a high bar for code quality and system health in production.</li> <li>Ability to translate high-level business goals into concrete technical plans and architectural roadmaps.</li> <li>Motivated by solving large, complex probl ...
