This is a paid, in-person, 12 week internship based out of Costa Mesa, CA<strong>. </strong></p> <h2><strong>WHAT YOU'LL DO</strong></h2> <h3><strong><em>Build foundational product design skills through real-world impact</em></strong></h3> <ul> <li>You will develop a deep understanding of how Software Product Design plays an integral role in shaping experiences in mission critical autonomous and command control domains.</li> <li>You will own a feature or workflow end-to-end running discovery, design exploration, prototyping, and implementation with engineers.</li> <li>You will leverage Anduril’s existing design system components and interaction patterns while exercising your design fundamental skills: typography, color icon usage, and layout.</li> </ul> <h3><em>Develop operator empathy and strategic thinking skills</em></h3> <ul> <li>You will define solutions based on an understanding of the end-user needs, product, and business goals.</li> <li>You will develop a deep understanding of operator workflows and mission context through observation and engagement with end users (or proxy subject matter experts).</li> <li>You will participate in user research sessions and practice synthesis of learnings with guidance from your manager or lead.</li> </ul> <h3><em>Develop your design, communication, and collaboration skills</em></h3> <ul> <li>You will share work early and often – soliciting input from cross-functional partners and stakeholders.</li> <li>You will exercise your storytelling skills by presenting concepts and designs in critiques and stakeholder reviews.</li> <li>You will practice rapid design iteration based on team feedback.</li> </ul> <h3><em>Execute with increasing autonomy</em></h3> <ul> <li>You will collaborate with product designers, research, product management, and engineers to understand the problem space and define effective solutions.</li> <li>You will account for technical constraints and edge cases in your designs.</li> <li>You will maintain an organized Figma workspace, and develop your design documentation and hand-off process.</li> </ul> <h2><br><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Holds or in the process of obtaining a Bachelors degree in design (HCD, interaction, visual) or design related field.</li> <li>Must be a rising senior at the time of internship and returning to school at the end of internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter/semester.</li> <li>A desire to work on software and applications that have real-world impact.</li> <li>U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.</li> </ul> <h2><strong><br>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Proficiency with Figma design and prototyping tools.</li> <li>Growth mindset and proactiveness to seek feedback.</li> <li>Adaptable, quick to learn, and comfort operating in a fast-paced technical environment.</li> <li>Low-ego, high ownership, and mission oriented.</li> </ul> <p><br>Anduril is an equal-opportunity employer, and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
