Job Description
Full-Stack Engineer - Onboarding (SDK)
ABOUT THE ROLE
Taktile helps financial institutions make smarter, safer decisions with the power of AI. Our software gives teams the tools to automate complex decisions, from customer onboarding and underwriting to fraud detection, with full visibility and control. By combining AI with a rich ecosystem of financial data, we enable companies to adapt their decision-making in real time as markets, customer behavior, and risks evolve.
We're looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join the Web SDK team and help build a product that sits at the intersection of fintech and platform engineering. You'll contribute to the development of a unified client-side SDK that abstracts identity verification, device intelligence, and document capture behind a single, elegant integration, used by financial institutions to onboard customers securely and seamlessly. This is a high-impact role where you'll grow your skills rapidly while shipping meaningful work from day one.
If you've worked with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, have experience building front-end applications, and are excited about developing SDKs or developer-facing products that run in other people's browsers, we'd love to talk.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and extend the SDK: Contribute to a client-side JavaScript/TypeScript SDK that orchestrates multiple third-party vendor scripts behind a unified, headless API.
- Develop the hosted verification experience: Help build and improve a secure, embeddable web application that renders interactive identity verification flows with a polished, brandable UX.
- Ensure reliability: Contribute to versioning strategies, staged rollouts, and CI/CD pipelines for client-side code that runs in customer browsers.
- Tackle integration challenges: Work with vendor SDKs that each have their own quirks, lifecycle hooks, and failure modes, and help make them work together seamlessly.
- Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with Product, Design, and senior engineers to refine the SDK's developer experience and deliver high-quality features.
- Engage with customers: Support early adopters by helping debug integration issues and ensuring the SDK works reliably across different environments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Hybrid role based in Berlin. We collaborate in person regularly and don't offer remote-only for this position.
- Fluent English required. You'll write design docs, review PRs with context, and occasionally join customer calls.
- Solid engineering fundamentals across the full stack: you're comfortable working with both APIs and responsive, accessible front-end experiences.
- Good understanding of how browsers work: the DOM, security models (CSP, CORS, iframe sandboxing), caching, script loading, and performance.
- Comfortable working in production environments and willing to participate in incident response as part of a team rotation.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally working on web applications or developer-facing tools.
- Production experience with TypeScript/JavaScript on both client and server. You've built modern front-end applications and have a solid understanding of bundling, tree-shaking, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with iframe-based architectures, postMessage communication, or sandboxed execution environments is a strong plus.
- Some backend development experience (Python is a plus) — you're able to work with APIs and services that support the client-side layer.
- Prior experience with public cloud providers (preferably AWS).
IDEAL, BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Experience building or contributing to a client-side SDK, embeddable widget, or developer-facing JavaScript library.
- Exposure to identity verification, fraud prevention, or fintech - e.g., working with providers like Socure, Vouched, Onfido, Fingerprint, or ThreatMetrix.
- Familiarity with media APIs (camera access, image capture, WebRTC) and permission-driven UX ... (truncated, view full listing at source)
