<p><strong>About the team and position</strong></p>
<p>The Inspection Center General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the center. Providing leadership for up to 500 associates working multiple shifts in a lean manufacturing environment. Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and high associate engagement while ensuring the facility meets quality, production, and cost objectives.</p>

<p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p>
<p>Leadership 30% </p>
<ul>
<li>Leads strategic planning to ensure the facility will have the capability to meet future demands.</li>
<li>Provides strategic vision and guidance to the location</li>
<li>Ensures management beliefs and behaviors are in line with the Carvana culture</li>
<li>Frequent visits to the shop floor to ensure connection with the realities of the business and model leadership behaviors throughout the organization</li>
<li>Positively challenge and engage the team to continuously improve quality production and cost performance</li>
<li>Live the Carvana values</li>
</ul>
<p>Production Management 30%</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead production planning for the Inspection Center</li>
<li>Ensure the Inspection Center has adequate capacity to meet production targets</li>
<li>Oversee weekly performance review meetings for each area and report out on the Inspection Centers performance</li>
<li>Identify problems impacting the Inspection Center’s performance. Prioritize problems, allocate resources, and ensure the resolution of issues</li>
<li>Ensure operating standards such as standardized work, operating rules, 5S, and visual management tools are consistently executed</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all health and safety and loss prevention guidelines</li>
</ul>
<p>People Management 30%</p>
<ul>
<li>Participate in the selection and hiring process, ensure a pipeline of associates to fill current and future positions</li>
<li>Maintain a bench of candidates for each leadership position</li>
<li>Ensure progression path training and certification process is consistently executed</li>
<li>Model effective teamwork and ensure it’s embraced at all levels of the organization</li>
<li>Provide competency-based feedback and ensure leaders throughout the organization are also providing appropriate feedback</li>
<li>Mentor reconditioning managers</li>
</ul>
<p>Continuous Improvement 10%</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the selection of continuous improve events, allocate resources to support events, and hold the team accountable for results</li>
<li>Participate in and lead continuous improvement efforts</li>
<li>Train and mentor reconditioning managers on problem-solving</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What you should have</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 8 years of management experience either in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment leading multiple work groups</li>
<li>A valid driver’s license </li>
<li>Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years</li>
<li>Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles</li>
