<p>The Associate Director, SEC Reporting Technical Accounting will serve as a key contributor to the company’s external reporting and technical accounting function. Reporting to the Senior Director, Technical Accounting SEC Reporting, this role will be highly hands-on, owning the preparation and execution of SEC filings and technical accounting analyses while also managing one direct report. </p>
<p>This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys operating in the details, partnering cross-functionally, and helping build processes in a growing public biotechnology company. </p>
<h3>Essential Functions:</h3>
<p>SEC Reporting (Hands-On Execution) </p>
<ul>
<li>Own the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K </li>
<li>Prepare and/or review primary financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements </li>
<li>Draft and support MDA disclosures, with emphasis on RD, GA, stock-based compensation, and other pre-revenue biotech-specific areas </li>
<li>Coordinate the quarterly close-to-reporting process across Accounting, FPA, Legal, and external auditors </li>
<li>Support earnings release tie-outs and disclosure controls </li>
</ul>
<p>Technical Accounting </p>
<ul>
<li>Support technical accounting assessments and documentation for complex transactions, including: </li>
<li>Collaboration, licensing, and RD-related arrangements </li>
<li>Equity and equity-linked financing transactions </li>
<li>Other complex and other non-routine transactions </li>
<li>Research new accounting standards and SEC guidance; assess applicability and implementation impact </li>
<li>Draft clear, well-supported technical accounting memos and communicate conclusions to stakeholders </li>
</ul>
<p>People Management </p>
<ul>
<li>Manage and mentor one direct report, providing coaching, review, and development support </li>
<li>Review work products to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to timelines </li>
<li>Foster strong execution discipline and continuous improvement within the reporting function </li>
</ul>
<p>Process Improvement Scaling </p>
<ul>
<li>Help design and enhance scalable SEC reporting and technical accounting processes as the company grows </li>
