Join Planet and be a part of our mission to change the way people see the world.</p> <p>Planet is a global company with employees working remotely world wide and joining us from offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands.</p></div><p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p> <p>Planet is seeking an experienced and customer-obsessed Product Manager to lead the productization, launch, and growth of our new AI Geospatial Assistant. This initiative is a strategic bet to further Planet’s leap from data provider to solutions provider for our customers. This role is for an AI-native leader embracing new product management paradigms and passionate about revolutionizing the remote sensing industry using AI.</p> <p>This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.</p> <p><strong>Impact You'll Own:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead Product Strategy Velocity: Take ownership of the high-velocity product development as it transitions from a research effort within our AI research team into a fast-paced product group.</li> <li>Customer-Driven Development: Play the primary leadership role in the customer-driven phase of product development. You will work closely with designers and user researchers to nail the launch plan and initial target audience for Planet’s latest AI-driven product.</li> <li>Focus on Core Use Cases: Drive the product to solve real, critical customer problems where Planet has a durable competitive advantage, primarily focusing on forensics and large-scale daily change use cases.</li> <li>Team Collaboration: Be a core member of the initial product team, collaborating with Executive Sponsors, Engineering Manager, Designer, and Tech Lead.</li> <li>Product Launch: You are taking this product from “zero-to-one”. You will lead the team through critical development phases, from early Beta testing to General Availability (GA), to ensure the product successfully meets all stringent criteria for both technology and customer acceptance.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>10+ years of product management experience, ideally in Earth Observation or geospatial domain, with a passion for bringing cutting edge concepts to life.</li> <li>“Zero-to-one” experience: excellent product management skills honed to bring strategic concepts to reality; build, test, launch and iterate with velocity.</li> <li>Knowledgeable about the latest in AI innovation, embeddings and MCP especially at the intersection of these technologies and data challenges of remote sensing</li> <li>Obsession for understanding customer needs, what they value and the problems they are setting out to solve</li> <li>Expert at internal and external stakeholder management</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.</li> <li>Superb analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed decision-making a ...
