This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established acute medical SLT team within a busy hospital environment.</p> <p data-start="870" data-end="1188">The post holder will be responsible for responding to <strong data-start="924" data-end="994">acute adult referrals across a range of medical and surgical wards</strong>, with the majority of the caseload focused on <strong data-start="1041" data-end="1080">dysphagia assessment and management</strong>, alongside some communication referrals. Stroke referrals are managed by a separate specialist stroke team.</p> <p data-start="1190" data-end="1393">This role is suitable for a <strong data-start="1218" data-end="1266">Band 6 SLT who is independent with dysphagia</strong>, with clinical oversight and support provided by an on-site <strong data-start="1327" data-end="1392">Band 7 SLT and the Deputy Head of Speech and Language Therapy</strong>.</p> <p data-start="1395" data-end="1577">While full-time availability (Monday to Friday) is preferred, <strong data-start="1457" data-end="1507">flexible or part-time hours will be considered</strong>, and applications from more than one part-time therapist are welcome.</p> <hr data-start="1579" data-end="1582"> <h3 data-start="1584" data-end="1610">Key Responsibilities</h3> <p data-start="1611" data-end="1636">In this role, you will:</p> <ul data-start="1637" data-end="2209"> <li data-start="1637" data-end="1736"> <p data-start="1639" data-end="1736">Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with <strong data-start="1680" data-end="1693">dysphagia</strong> across acute medical and surgical wards.</p> </li> <li data-start="1737" data-end="1817"> <p data-start="1739" data-end="1817">Provide assessment and intervention for <strong data-start="1779" data-end="1802">communication needs</strong> as required.</p> </li> <li data-start="1818" data-end="1912"> <p data-start="1820" data-end="1912">Make evidence-based clinical recommendations to support safe swallowing and communication.</p> </li> <li data-start="1913" data-end="2001"> <p data-start="1915" data-end="2001">Work collaboratively within the acute SLT team and the wider multidisciplinary team.</p> </li> <li data-start="2002" data-end="2113"> <p data-start="2004" data-end="2113">Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.</p> </li> <li data-start="2114" data-end="2209"> <p data-start="2116" data-end="2209">Work to an agreed <strong data-start="2134" data-end="2161">individualised job plan</strong>, aligned with a generic Band 6 job description.</p> </li> </ul> <hr data-start="2211" data-end="2214"> <h3 data-start="2216" data-end="2251">Qualifications and Experience</h3> <p data-start="2 ...
