<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Consultant in Adult Psychiatry<br><strong>Grade:</strong> Consultant<br><strong>Location:</strong> Hove, Sussex<br><strong>Working Hours:</strong> 40 hours per week<br><strong>Rate:</strong> Competitive — details to be discussed upon application</p> <p>We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Mental Health to join our NHS client in Hove, Sussex. This is a full-time locum opportunity offering a dynamic role within a supportive and multidisciplinary team.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br>• Provide expert psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs in both inpatient and community settings<br>• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised treatment plans<br>• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and case conferences<br>• Ensure legal compliance with the Mental Health Act, including responsibilities under Section 12 approval<br>• Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and supervision of junior medical staff</p> <p><strong>Qualifications Experience</strong><br>• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise<br>• Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT)<br>• Section 12 approval under the Mental Health Act<br>• Significant experience in adult psychiatry, ideally in both inpatient and CMHT settings<br>• Excellent leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills</p> <p><strong>How to Apply</strong><br>If your experience aligns with this role, apply today.
