<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Consultant in Child Adolescent Psychiatry<br><strong>Grade:</strong> Consultant<br><strong>Location:</strong> Birmingham, West Midlands<br><strong>Working Hours:</strong> 40 hours per week<br><strong>Rate:</strong> Competitive — details to be discussed upon application</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Child Adolescent Psychiatry to join our NHS client in Birmingham, West Midlands. This locum opportunity is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide expert psychiatric care within a CAMHS inpatient setting, specifically within a General Adolescent Unit (GAU)</li> <li>Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for young people</li> <li>Act as the Responsible Clinician (RC) and ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act (MHA)</li> <li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, patient-centred care</li> <li>Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to service development and clinical governance</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Full GMC registration with a licence to practise (essential)</li> <li>Section 12 approval (essential)</li> <li>Approved Clinician (AC) status (essential)</li> <li>Extensive experience in CAMHS, inpatient psychiatry, and GAU settings</li> <li>Previous experience in a consultant role</li> </ul> <p><strong>How to Apply</strong><br>If your experience matches this role, apply today!
