Consultant Psychiatrist

<p></p> <p data-start="179" data-end="355">A secure healthcare service is seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team within a learning disability ward. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.</p> <p data-start="357" data-end="628">The service is located in a rural area and provides specialist care for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, behaviors that challenge, or offending behaviors. The setting includes low secure beds and a newly opened locked rehabilitation service.</p> <hr data-start="630" data-end="633"> <h3 data-start="635" data-end="663"><strong data-start="639" data-end="663">What you’ll be doing</strong></h3> <p data-start="665" data-end="858">You will join a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing. The service takes a personalised, therapeutic approach to help individuals progress with confidence toward a healthier future.</p> <p data-start="860" data-end="925">As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will include:</p> <ul data-start="927" data-end="1569"> <li data-start="927" data-end="1037"> <p data-start="929" data-end="1037">Providing expert clinical care as a Responsible Clinician, supported by an on-site senior management team.</p> </li> <li data-start="1038" data-end="1133"> <p data-start="1040" data-end="1133">Assisting qualified staff with assessments and the implementation of individual care plans.</p> </li> <li data-start="1134" data-end="1250"> <p data-start="1136" data-end="1250">Undertaking routine clinical tasks and activities delegated to support patient dignity, wellbeing, and recovery.</p> </li> <li data-start="1251" data-end="1316"> <p data-start="1253" data-end="1316">Managing complex cases within learning disability psychiatry.</p> </li> <li data-start="1317" data-end="1377"> <p data-start="1319" data-end="1377">Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.</p> </li> <li data-start="1378" data-end="1488"> <p data-start="1380" data-end="1488">Being supported by dedicated administrative staff and having access to flexible or remote working options.</p> </li> <li data-start="1489" data-end="1569"> <p data-start="1491" data-end="1569">Participating in the non-residential second on-call rota (low contact rate).</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="1571" data-end="1623">Further details can be found in the job description.</p> <hr data-start="1625" data-end="1628"> <h3 data-start="1630" data-end="1667"><strong data-start="1634" data-end="1667">What you’ll bring to the role</strong></h3> <p data-start="1669" data-end="1762">The role is rewarding and varied, requiring resilience and empathy.
