Consultant Psychiatrist

<p></p> <p data-start="164" data-end="431">An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join a new nurse-led residential service supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. This is a unique chance to help shape and deliver an innovative service from the ground up.</p> <p data-start="433" data-end="479">This is a part-time role of 15 hours per week.</p> <hr data-start="481" data-end="484"> <h3 data-start="486" data-end="514"><strong data-start="490" data-end="514">What you’ll be doing</strong></h3> <p data-start="516" data-end="750">You will join a compassionate team committed to resident wellbeing. The service takes a personalised, therapeutic approach, using evidence-based interventions to support individuals in achieving a healthier and more fulfilling future.</p> <p data-start="752" data-end="781">Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul data-start="783" data-end="1472"> <li data-start="783" data-end="988"> <p data-start="785" data-end="988">Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including participating in multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and contributing to the development of a therapeutic environment.</p> </li> <li data-start="989" data-end="1082"> <p data-start="991" data-end="1082">Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).</p> </li> <li data-start="1083" data-end="1176"> <p data-start="1085" data-end="1176">Overseeing referrals and admissions, including contributing to pre-admission assessments.</p> </li> <li data-start="1177" data-end="1296"> <p data-start="1179" data-end="1296">Providing a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, formulation, and treatment.</p> </li> <li data-start="1297" data-end="1472"> <p data-start="1299" data-end="1472">Supporting staff in the assessment and implementation of individual care plans and undertaking routine clinical tasks to promote dignity, wellbeing, and effective treatment.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="1474" data-end="1526">Further details can be found in the job description.</p> <hr data-start="1528" data-end="1531"> <h3 data-start="1533" data-end="1570"><strong data-start="1537" data-end="1570">What you’ll bring to the role</strong></h3> <p data-start="1572" data-end="1671">The work is highly rewarding, though often challenging, and requires resilience as well as empathy.</p> <p data-start="1673" data-end="1698">The ideal candidate will:</p> <ul data-start="1700" data-end="2371"> <li data-start="1700" data-end="1783"> <p data-start="1702" data-end="1783">Hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in Psychiatry.</p> </li> <li data-start="1784" data-end="1848"> <p data-start="1786" data-end="1848">Be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise.</p> </li> <li data-start="1849" data-end="1956"> <p data-start="1851" data-end="1956">Have substantial experience managing complex mental health presentations in NHS or equivalent settings.</p> </li> <li data-start="1957" data-end="2066"> <p data-start="1959" data-end="2066">Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.</p> </li> <li data-start="2067" data-end="2187"> <p data-start="2069" data-end="2187">Possess a thorough understanding of relevant guidelines, legislation, and standards (e.g., NICE, Mental Health Act).</p> </li> <li data-start="2188" data-end="2283"> <p data-start="2190" data-end="2283">Be skilled in psychopharmacology, risk assessment, and evidence-based treatment approaches.</p> </li> <li data-start="2284" data-end="2371"> <p data-start="2286" data-end="2371">Have experience contributing to clinical audits, service development, and training.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="2373" data-end="2429">Informal enquiries can be made via the recruitment team.</p> <hr data-start="2431" data-end="2434"> <h3 data-start="2436" data-end="2475"><strong data-start="2440" data-end="2 ...
