<p></p> <p data-start="171" data-end="341">A specialist healthcare service is seeking a <strong data-start="216" data-end="272">Consultant Psychiatrist – Male PICU/Medical Director</strong> to join the team. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.</p> <p data-start="343" data-end="462">The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient mental health services within a supportive and therapeutic environment.</p> <hr data-start="464" data-end="467"> <h3 data-start="469" data-end="497"><strong data-start="473" data-end="497">What you’ll be doing</strong></h3> <p data-start="499" data-end="584">As Consultant Psychiatrist – Male PICU/Medical Director, you will be accountable for:</p> <ul data-start="586" data-end="1661"> <li data-start="586" data-end="757"> <p data-start="588" data-end="757">Leading the recruitment, induction, and probation of medical staff, ensuring compliance with training requirements, specialist registration, and practising privileges.</p> </li> <li data-start="758" data-end="901"> <p data-start="760" data-end="901">Overseeing medical staff appraisals, revalidation, and performance management, addressing clinical or behavioural concerns collaboratively.</p> </li> <li data-start="902" data-end="1100"> <p data-start="904" data-end="1100">Providing strategic and operational leadership as part of the Senior Management Team, ensuring healthcare policy, clinical governance, and best practice standards are implemented and maintained.</p> </li> <li data-start="1101" data-end="1203"> <p data-start="1103" data-end="1203">Ensuring effective medical cover, including robust arrangements for out-of-hours and annual leave.</p> </li> <li data-start="1204" data-end="1357"> <p data-start="1206" data-end="1357">Leading clinical investigations, complaints, and crisis management, working with senior clinical leadership to resolve issues and drive improvements.</p> </li> <li data-start="1358" data-end="1487"> <p data-start="1360" data-end="1487">Contributing to continuous learning by embedding lessons from complaints, incidents, benchmarking, and service user feedback.</p> </li> <li data-start="1488" data-end="1661"> <p data-start="1490" data-end="1661">Maintaining your own clinical caseload, completing mandatory training, and representing the hospital’s clinical expertise with commissioners, partners, and stakeholders.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="1663" data-end="1718">Further details are available in the job description.</p> <hr data-start="1720" data-end="1723"> <h3 data-start="1725" data-end="1762"><strong data-start="1729" data-end="1762">What you’ll bring to the role</strong></h3> <p data-start="1764" data-end="1789">The ideal candidate will:</p> <ul data-start="1791" data-end="2544"> <li data-start="1791" data-end="1969"> <p data-start="1793" data-end="1969">Be a Consultant Psychiatrist with MRCPsych (or equivalent), Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status, and CCT (or equivalent), listed on the GMC Specialist Register.</p> </li> <li data-start="1970" data-end="2131"> <p data-start="1972" data-end="2131">Have at least three years’ experience working at Consultant level, with proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across hospital or community settings.</p> </li> <li data-start="2132" data-end="2231"> <p data-start="2134" data-end="2231">Demonstrate a track record of contributing to service change and improvement at a senior level.</p> </li> <li data-start="2232" data-end="2344"> <p data-start="2234" data-end="2344">Possess strong leadership and influencing skills, delivering high-quality, innovative, patient-centred care.</p> </li> <li data-start="2345" data-end="2460"> <p data-start="2347" data-end="2460">Exhibit a flexible, positive, team-oriented approach and a commitment to values-based, evidence-based practice.</p> </li> <li data-start="2461" data-end="2544"> <p data-start="2463" data-end="2544">Have completed, or be willing to undertake, leadership and management training.</p> </li> </ul> <hr data- ...
