Consultant Psychiatrist OCD

<p></p> <p data-start="160" data-end="299">A specialist healthcare service is seeking a <strong data-start="205" data-end="232">Consultant Psychiatrist</strong> to join the team. This is a part-time role of 15 hours per week.</p> <p data-start="301" data-end="479">The service provides specialist mental health care in a calm, therapeutic environment, delivering evidence-based treatment programs for patients with complex psychiatric needs.</p> <hr data-start="481" data-end="484"> <h3 data-start="486" data-end="514"><strong data-start="490" data-end="514">What you’ll be doing</strong></h3> <p data-start="516" data-end="651">You will join a compassionate team committed to patient wellbeing, using a personalised, evidence-based approach to support recovery.</p> <p data-start="653" data-end="682">Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul data-start="684" data-end="1703"> <li data-start="684" data-end="860"> <p data-start="686" data-end="860">Providing expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and formulation for patients presenting with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related anxiety spectrum disorders.</p> </li> <li data-start="861" data-end="1056"> <p data-start="863" data-end="1056">Leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of specialized OCD treatment programs, integrating medication management, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other appropriate interventions.</p> </li> <li data-start="1057" data-end="1239"> <p data-start="1059" data-end="1239">Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, and social workers, to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.</p> </li> <li data-start="1240" data-end="1363"> <p data-start="1242" data-end="1363">Providing clinical leadership and supervision to junior psychiatrists, trainees, and other mental health professionals.</p> </li> <li data-start="1364" data-end="1520"> <p data-start="1366" data-end="1520">Contributing to research, clinical audits, and service development projects to improve treatment pathways, service efficiency, and patient satisfaction.</p> </li> <li data-start="1521" data-end="1703"> <p data-start="1523" data-end="1703">Engaging with external stakeholders, including primary care providers, community services, and patient advocacy groups, to promote awareness and ensure seamless care transitions.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="1705" data-end="1760">Further details are available in the job description.</p> <hr data-start="1762" data-end="1765"> <h3 data-start="1767" data-end="1804"><strong data-start="1771" data-end="1804">What you’ll bring to the role</strong></h3> <p data-start="1806" data-end="1908">The work is rewarding but challenging, requiring resilience, empathy, and strong clinical expertise.</p> <p data-start="1910" data-end="1935">The ideal candidate will:</p> <ul data-start="1937" data-end="2567"> <li data-start="1937" data-end="2056"> <p data-start="1939" data-end="2056">Be a fully qualified Consultant Psychiatrist, registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.</p> </li> <li data-start="2057" data-end="2238"> <p data-start="2059" data-end="2238">Have substantial post-qualification experience diagnosing and treating OCD and related anxiety disorders, with expertise in both pharmacological and psychological interventions.</p> </li> <li data-start="2239" data-end="2348"> <p data-start="2241" data-end="2348">Have experience working within multidisciplinary teams and providing clinical leadership and supervision.</p> </li> <li data-start="2349" data-end="2407"> <p data-start="2351" data-end="2407">Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.</p> </li> <li data-start="2408" data-end="2488"> <p data-start="2410" data-end="2488">Demonstrate commitment to research, clinical audit, and service development.</p> </li> <li data-start="2489" data-end="2567"> <p data-start="2491" data-end="2567">Deliver patient-centered care and drive improvements in clinical outco ...
