The role involves outpatient clinics, surgical procedures, multidisciplinary team participation, and teaching responsibilities.</p> <hr data-start="1105" data-end="1108"> <h3 data-start="1110" data-end="1139"><strong data-start="1114" data-end="1139">Key Responsibilities:</strong></h3> <ul data-start="1141" data-end="1933"> <li data-start="1141" data-end="1228"> <p data-start="1143" data-end="1228">Provide high-quality clinical care to paediatric patients with ophthalmic conditions.</p> </li> <li data-start="1229" data-end="1383"> <p data-start="1231" data-end="1383">Diagnose and manage conditions such as strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and other paediatric ocular diseases.</p> </li> <li data-start="1384" data-end="1453"> <p data-start="1386" data-end="1453">Perform specialist paediatric ophthalmic surgery where appropriate.</p> </li> <li data-start="1454" data-end="1554"> <p data-start="1456" data-end="1554">Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with orthoptists, optometrists, and paediatricians.</p> </li> <li data-start="1555" data-end="1607"> <p data-start="1557" data-end="1607">Support emergency and urgent care where necessary.</p> </li> <li data-start="1608" data-end="1696"> <p data-start="1610" data-end="1696">Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with governance standards.</p> </li> <li data-start="1697" data-end="1781"> <p data-start="1699" data-end="1781">Provide supervision and training to junior doctors, orthoptic staff, and trainees.</p> </li> <li data-start="1782" data-end="1855"> <p data-start="1784" data-end="1855">Engage in audit, clinical governance, and quality improvement projects.</p> </li> <li data-start="1856" data-end="1933"> <p data-start="1858" data-end="1933">Contribute to the ongoing development of paediatric ophthalmology services.</p> </li> </ul> <hr data-start="1935" data-end="1938"> <h3 data-start="1940" data-end="1967"><strong data-start="1944" data-end="1967">Essential Criteria:</strong></h3> <ul data-start="1969" data-end="2474"> <li data-start="1969" data-end="2020"> <p data-start="1971" data-end="2020">Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.</p> </li> <li data-start="2021" data-end="2111"> <p data-start="2023" data-end="2111">Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in Ophthalmology (or eligible within 6 months).</p> </li> <li data-start="2112" data-end="2197"> <p data-start="2114" data-end="2197">Extensive experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology at Consultant or equivalent level.</p> </li> <li data-start="2198" data-end="2274"> <p data-start="2200" data-end="2274">Fellow ...
