The college provides life-changing learning opportunities for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), communication and behavioural difficulties, and complex medical needs.</p> <p data-start="848" data-end="1279">This role is suitable for a Band 6 or Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist with experience in specialist education or complex needs. You will work as part of a highly supportive multi-disciplinary team, delivering person-centred, evidence-based speech and language therapy to help learners develop functional communication, independence, and skills to achieve their personal aspirations and actively participate in their community.</p> <h3 data-start="1281" data-end="1307">Key Responsibilities</h3> <p data-start="1308" data-end="1333">In this role, you will:</p> <ul data-start="1334" data-end="2174"> <li data-start="1334" data-end="1510"> <p data-start="1336" data-end="1510">Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs for young people and adults with complex SEND, including PMLD and behavioural challenges.</p> </li> <li data-start="1511" data-end="1642"> <p data-start="1513" data-end="1642">Design and deliver individualised and group therapy programmes tailored to learners’ functional goals and educational outcomes.</p> </li> <li data-start="1643" data-end="1815"> <p data-start="1645" data-end="1815">Provide specialist guidance, modelling, and training to teaching staff, support workers, and families to embed communication strategies across the learning environment.</p> </li> <li data-start="1816" data-end="1937"> <p data-start="1818" data-end="1937">Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes, annual reviews, and multi-disciplinary team meetings.</p> </li> <li data-start="1938" data-end="2057"> <p data-start="1940" data-end="2057">Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional, organisational, and legal standards.</p> </li> <li data-start="2058" data-end="2174"> <p data-start="2060" data-end="2174">Support service development and best practice, including mentoring junior colleagues or students (Band 7 level).</p> </li> </ul> <h3 data-start="2176" data-end="2211">Qualifications and Experience</h3> <p data-start="2212" data-end="2262">To be considered for this role, you should have:</p> <ul data-start="2263" data-end="2729"> <li data-start="2263" data-end="2334"> <p data-start="2265" data-end="2334">A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).</p> </li> <li data-start="2335" data-end="2454"> <p data-start="2337" data-end="2454">HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).</p> </li> <li data-start="2455" data-end="2578"> <p data-start="2457" data-end="2578">Experience working with young people or adults with SEND, PMLD, complex communication needs, or behavioural challenges.</p> </li> <li data-start="2579" data-end="2649"> <p data-start="2581" data-end="264 ...
