Enterprise Risk Management Associate

<p>As Marqeta's <strong>Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) Associate</strong>, you will be a core risk team member helping shape how Marqeta identifies, assesses, and monitors risk across the organization. You will assist with the design and implementation of a modern ERM framework that integrates risk management principles, advanced analytics, and financial quantification to protect the company and enable risk-balanced growth. This role requires an individual contributor who can translate emerging and existing risks into actionable business insights for cross functional leaders.</p> <p><em> </em>We work <a href="https://www.marqeta.com/blog/2022/05/10/flexible-first">Flexible First</a>. We’d love for you to join us!</p> <p>This position is for an existing vacancy.</p> <p><strong>The Impact You’ll Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in the development and maturation of the ERM framework, ensuring it aligns with industry standards such as COSO.</li> <li>Facilitate enterprise-wide risk workshops to identify emerging threats across technology, finance, operations, and other critical risk domains.</li> <li>Maintain the Enterprise Risk Register and track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) using advanced visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to detect early warning signs.</li> <li>Define and operationalize risk treatment program, including risk remediation and risk acceptance processes.</li> <li>Assist in implementing GRC system solutions and AI-powered risk tools for real-time anomaly detection and automated risk reporting.</li> <li>Prepare quarterly risk dashboards and audit-ready documentation for senior management and risk committees.</li> <li>Collaborate across the "three lines of defense" to ensure risk management is integrated into day-to-day operations and decision making.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience: 3-5 years of experience in risk, audit, or compliance roles, preferably within regulated and financial technology-centric environments.</li> <li>Deep understanding of modern GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platforms and experience integrating AI/automation into risk workflows.</li> <li>Dashboard KRI development <ul> <li>Built dashboards for risk/compliance metrics</li> <li>Assisted with data pipelines to drive risk/compliance dashboard reporting</li> <li>Created automated reporting for stakeholder consumption</li> <li>Experience with BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker)</li> </ul> </li> <li>Foundation of integrity and strong character to consistently represent Marqeta’s values</li> <li>Self-starter who is a consummate team player and has demonstrated the ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity</li> <li>Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects; highly motivated and able to work in an agile environment</li> <li>Ability to foster a proactive, risk-aware culture and influence critical cross functional stakeholders in decision making</li> <li>Proficiency in data-driven risk assessment and complex problem-solving.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice-To-Haves</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field</li> <li>Professional certification such as CRMP (Certified Risk Management Professional), CRM, CISA, or IRM qualifications is highly desirable.</li> <li>Strong grasp of current and emerging regulations involving risk management(e.g., ISO 31000 and COSO).</li> <li>Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions and levels, both internally and with partners.</li> <li>Startup/high-growth company experience with a proven track record of thriving in high-performing teams and fast-paced environments.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your Manager</strong></p> <ul> <li><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/matt-matuszak-5415b640/">Matt Matuszak, VP, Risk</a></li> </ul> < ...
