We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.</p> <p><strong>About the role:</strong></p> <p>The Senior Analyst, Actuarial will play a key role in Oscar’s valuation function, focusing specifically on risk adjustment across all Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets. This role will own the maintenance and review of actuarial models used to develop risk adjustment accrual estimates, forecasting estimates, and various other analyses. This is a very dynamic space, which makes this a great opportunity to work on interesting projects and have a BIG impact.</p> <p>You will report into the Director, Actuarial.</p> <p><strong>Work Location: </strong>This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid</p> <p><strong>Pay Transparency: </strong>The base pay for this role is: $101,844 - $133,670.25 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Model Management:</strong> Maintain and enhance core risk adjustment reporting and forecasting models, ensuring consistency and standardization across all team users.</li> <li><strong>Infrastructure Design:</strong> Serve as a key contributor in improving modeling infrastructure; develop recommendations for model design decisions, best practices, and automation/documentation standards.</li> <li><strong>Financial Strategy:</strong> Develop recommendations for the risk adjustment accrual setting process and provide data-driven insights for the financial planning process.</li> <li><strong>Trend Analysis:</strong> Identify, triage, and investigate core drivers of observed trends across plan designs, providers, vendors, and markets.</li> <li><strong>Stakeholder Engagement:</strong> Maintain strong relationships and clear lines of communication with internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li><strong>Team Development:</strong> Aid in the onboarding of new analysts by collaborating and integrating them into existing processes.</li> <li><strong>Governance:</strong> Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> <li> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.</li> <li>Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or on the track to become one.</li> <li>3+ years of experience in a related field.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus points:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of core health insurance concepts and experience with actuarial applications.</li> <li>Highly technical with a strong enthusiasm to apply tech-forward methods in actuarial models.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is an authentic Oscar Health job opportunity.
