This is a hybrid player-coach role — equal parts hands-on product design and people management.</p> <p>In the near term, you will design complex, high-impact product experiences while directly managing a small group of designers. You will lead by example, setting quality standards through your own work while coaching others to do the same.</p> <p>Over time, as the team scales, this role will evolve into a more traditional UX management position focused on strategic direction, organizational design, operational excellence, and cross-functional leadership. This is an opportunity to shape both product experience and the design culture of a rapidly evolving, AI-forward platform built for technical, sophisticated users.</p> <h2><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will…</strong></span></h2> <p>Hands-On Product Design: Own end-to-end design for complex product initiatives, simplifying highly technical workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences while partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering from discovery through release.</p> <p><strong>Design Systems Quality:</strong> Contribute to and evolve our design system and reusable UX patterns, ensuring accessibility, usability, and consistency across product surfaces.</p> <p><strong>Team Leadership Development: </strong>Directly manage a small team of UX designers, conduct weekly 1:1s and performance reviews, provide structured design critique and hands-on coaching, and support hiring and onboarding as the team grows.</p> <p><strong>Operational Excellence:</strong> Manage designer workload, capacity planning, and prioritization across initiatives while maintaining strong UX Jira hygiene, ticket quality, status tracking, and cross-functional alignment within engineering workflows.</p> <p><strong>Strategic Partnership:</strong> Strengthen collaboration with Product and Engineering leadership, integrate UX early in roadmap definition and discovery, champion research rigor, and drive workflow simplification to reduce unnecessary product complexity.</p> <p><strong>Build for Scale:</strong> Support documentation, governance, and reusable patterns, help create frameworks engineering teams can confidently build from, and increase design leverage through systems, standards, and clarity to support long-term platform scalability.</p> <p>We are a remote-first company and work happens across many time-zones - you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hours.</p> <h2><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>If You've Got It - We Want It</strong></span></h2> <ul> <li>8+ years of experience in UX or Product Design.</li> <li>Experience designing complex B2B or developer-facing products.</li> <li>1–3 years of formal people management experience with direct reports or team leadership.</li> <li>Experience managing team workload and collaborating within Jira-driven engineering environments.</li> <li>Proven ability to operate in ambiguity and shape direction.</li> <li>Experience partn ...
