Legal Counsel - Security & Privacy

The Opportunity Seeking an exceptional legal professional knowledgeable in global cybersecurity, privacy, IT, AI, and incident response laws to join our Cybersecurity Legal team! Working closely with and under mentorship of senior privacy counsel, this role provides strategic and operational legal support across global security and technology initiatives, supporting compliance with evolving privacy and cybersecurity regulations while enabling business innovation as an EMEA cybersecurity and privacy subject matter expert. This midlevel role is suitable for lawyers looking to deepen their expertise in data protection and information security law, with particular focus on driving incident response legal analysis and notification activities. What You'll Do Partner closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Third Party Risk Management, Security, IT, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other corporate teams) to assess and provide guidance on potential security risks and regulatory requirements relevant to Adobe. Stay up to date on changes in security, IT, and data breach notification laws and frameworks such as DORA, NIS 2, and CRA. Use this knowledge to advise the business, Security, and IT. Assist in the development, enhancement, maintenance, and compliance activities for our global incident response program. Drive legal analysis regarding notification obligations for Adobe’s incident response efforts. Conduct various privacy assessments (e.g., PIAs, LIAs, DPIAs), collaborating with teams across the company to provide legal counsel on critical IT and security-related initiatives. Support a variety of contract negotiations related to privacy and security, including customer, vendor, and partnership agreements. Develop and provide cybersecurity legal training to key cross-functional partners. In partnership with senior counsel, serve as the point of contact for regulatory engagement in Romania related to NIS2 compliance. This includes coordinating notifications and annual compliance submissions as needed. What You Need To Succeed Proficiency in Romanian and English languages Law degree or equivalent Fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2-3 years direct privacy and/or cybersecurity legal experience (such as GDPR advisory work, incident response support, or providing legal counsel to security or IT teams) Prior in-house and/or law firm experience, with CIPP certification(s) and experience counseling multinational companies preferred Strategic problem solving with excellent legal and business judgment and attention to detail Ability to work across teams and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization Strong understanding and experience with EU cybersecurity, information technology, and privacy laws and regulations Familiarity and curiosity about new media and emerging digital technologies, including generative Al Desire to learn, with excellent judgment and a sense of humor Work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations Comfort working in a very fast-paced environment About Adobe Adobe empowers everyone to create through innovative platforms and tools that unleash creativity, productivity and personalized customer experiences.
