Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Poseidon Aerospace, you will support the design and fabrication of tooling for our composite aircraft while developing critical manufacturing documentation. You'll work alongside our manufacturing design engineers to create tooling, learn CAM programming and machining, and document the processes that enable our production. This role balances hands-on tooling design and fabrication with creating clear work instructions, assembly procedures, and manufacturing process documentation. Responsibilities: Develop and document assembly procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing process documentation Assist in designing tooling, jigs, and fixtures for aircraft assembly and fabrication processes Support CAM programming and machining of tooling components under engineer guidance Create visual aids, diagrams, and step-by-step guides for tooling usage and assembly operations Conduct first article inspections and dimensional validation of tooling to ensure design intent is met Observe and document manufacturing processes on the production floor to capture best practices Help maintain and organize technical documentation, drawings, and manufacturing records Support rapid prototyping of manufacturing solutions as designs evolve Ideal Qualifications: Completed or pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Proficiency or familiarity with CAD software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar) Strong technical writing and communication skills with attention to detail Basic understanding of machining processes and CNC equipment Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing principles Self-directed learner comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Ability to balance technical design work with clear documentation and communication Nice to have: Any CAM programming or CNC machining experience (mills, routers) Experience creating technical documentation or work instructions Exposure to composite materials or composite manufacturing processes Basic understanding of GD&T and tolerancing Familiarity with metrology equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) Experience with Fusion 360 for CAD/CAM workflow Photography or diagram creation skills for process documentation Even if you don't meet every qualification listed, we encourage you to apply.
