The Principal Software Engineer As part of Qlik's Data Integration portfolio, the Talend Management Console (TMC) is a key component of our cloud-based platform. It empowers customers to schedule, configure, and monitor data integration jobs across a variety of execution engines, supporting millions of workloads every day. Here’s how you’ll be making an impact: TMC product innovation: Design the technical architectures sustaining Qlik's product innovation & requirements, implement, test, deploy and monitor once in production. Collaborate with Product Owners on work breakdowns and plans. TMC services enhancements: Design, develop, test, and maintain services used to schedule and run millions of executions daily. Issues resolution: Collaborate with support engineers to analyze, identify, and resolve issues and bottlenecks. Quality assurance: Ensure deliverables meet requirements, employing test-driven development practices, including a variety of tests (unit, integration, end-to-end tests). Implement robust monitoring: Develop effective alerts, dashboards, playbooks, and runbooks to ensure swift issue identification and resolution. Communication and collaboration: Communicate with engineering management and team leaders on task prioritization, scheduling, and coordination. Collaborate with team members on all aspects of the development process, including API and interface standards, user experience, architectural design, implementation, testing, and documentation. We’re looking for a teammate with: Approximately 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development. Comfortable working within a large, complex organization. Strong sense of ownership and initiative, with proactive and effective communication skills. Proven experience mentoring team members and promoting best technical practices. Track record of designing and leading the architecture of large-scale systems. Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex issues, particularly in distributed systems and database performance. Deep expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem. Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or ActiveMQ. Proficient in working with databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
