Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.</p></div><p><strong>MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (COMPOSITES)</strong></p> <p>Join the Composites Test group as a Test Engineer developing SpaceX’s newest and most exciting products. The Composites Test is a fast-paced development focused group that aims to reduce production time and increase safety and reliability by designing efficient and effective equipment and processes to support new structures, components, and mechanisms.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Create test stand, equipment, and process concepts.</li> <li>Create fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists.</li> <li>Design and analyze structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms.</li> <li>Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (design, build, and reliability engineers) to ensure new designs are streamlined for efficient manufacturing.</li> <li>Supervise the integration of test stands and equipment including fabrication, mechanical assembly, and data/control systems.</li> <li>Operate test stands with great attention to detail (tests have very little margin for error, so attention to detail is a crucial and essential characteristic of a development test engineer).</li> <li>Develop manufacturing processes, and write detailed technical instructions to ensure hardware follows highest possible processing standards.</li> <li>Refine existing hardware and procedures for existing products based on lessons learned and product changes.</li> <li>Collaborate with highly skilled technicians to evaluate and resolve non-conformances by creating actionable items that systematically improve reliability and eliminate root causes.</li> <li>Manage several priorities and projects at the same time.</li> </ul> <p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.</li> <li>1+ years of experience as a test or manufacturing engineer.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hands-on advanced composites manufacturing experience including “out of autoclave” prepreg systems</li> <li>Experience with NX/Unigraphics, Teamcenter CAD and PDM systems for component and tooling design</li> <li>Expertise transitioning products from prototype manufacturing through volume production</li> <li>Experience with rapidly introducing process improvements and lean manufacturing principles</li> <li>Validation testing experience for composite structures</li> </ul> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Position may require extended work hours and weekend work</li> <li>Position may require standing, bending, stooping and working directly with hardware on the floor for up extended periods of time</li> </ul> <p><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</strong></p> <p>Pay range: </p> <p>Manufacturing Engineer/Level I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year <br>Manufacturing Engineer/Level II: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00/per year</p> <p>Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.</p> <p>Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
