Staff Network Engineer

<p><em><strong>We are looking for a Staff Network Engineer who is an automation builder.</strong></em></p><p><em>Someone who</em></p><ul><li><em>Understands how real-world network operations actually run</em></li><li><em>Can build automation end-to-end (not just design or talk about it)</em></li><li><em>Knows how to reduce manual work and improve operational speed</em></li><li><em>Can operate in production and improve it at the same time</em></li></ul><p><em><strong>This team owns high-level troubleshooting, rapid response, and operational resiliency. We triage, stabilise, automate, and continuously improve. If you’ve lived in network operations and evolved into CI/CD and automation — this role is for you.</strong></em></p><p><em><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></em></p><ul><li><em>Design and deploy network solutions aligned to business needs</em></li><li><em>Lead troubleshooting during outages and high-impact incidents</em></li><li><em>Automate operational tasks to reduce manual intervention</em></li><li><em>Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for network and infrastructure automation</em></li><li><em>Proactively analyse capacity, availability, and performance to prevent outages</em></li><li><em>Support planned changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities</em></li><li><em>Participate in a rotating on-call schedule</em></li></ul><p><em>This is not just support. This is operational engineering + automation ownership.</em></p> <p><em><strong>To be successful in this role you have</strong></em></p><ul><li><em>Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.</em></li><li><em>You must be able to implement -&#xa0;</em><ul><li><em>CI/CD pipelines</em></li><li><em>Ansible</em></li><li><em>Terraform</em></li></ul></li><li><em>5+ years in Internet/data center networking</em></li><li><em>Strong networking foundation:</em><ul><li><em>BGP, OSPF, IS-IS</em></li><li><em>HSRP/VRRP</em></li><li><em>IPSEC</em></li><li><em>TCP/IP deep understanding (packet capture + analysis)</em></li></ul></li><li><em>Hands-on troubleshooting in live production environments</em></li><li><em>Core platform knowledge </em></li><li><em>Networking fundamentals (routing/switching/security/load balancing) – must be intermediate </em></li></ul><p><em><strong>This role requires builders — not learners at this stage</strong></em></p><p><em><strong>Desirable Skills and Experience&#xa0;</strong></em></p><ul><li><em>2+ years of cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)</em></li><li><em>Automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell</em></li><li><em>Azure Core Platform (Compute, Storage, Networking)</em></li><li><em>Familiarity with Cisco IOS and JunOS operating systems required.</em></li><li><em>DevOps tooling (GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)</em></li><li><em>Experience with F5, Cisco ASA</em></li><li><em>Monitoring tools (Splunk, Cacti, Watch4Net)</em></li><li><em>Experience working in globally distributed teams</em></li><li><em>Strong communication skills and empathy for customers.</em></li><li><em>Ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment.</em></li></ul><p><em><strong>Who Will Thrive Here</strong></em></p><ul><li><em>A traditional network engineer who grew into automation</em></li><li><em>Someone comfortable in both outage bridges and code repositories</em></li><li><em>Engineers who understand production realities before writing automation</em></li><li><em>Problem-solvers who move fast and improve systems continuously</em></li><li><em>Professionals comfortable with ambiguity and ownership</em></li></ul><p><em><strong>Why This Role Matters</strong></em></p><p><em>This team is scaling.
