Senior/Staff Software Engineer - Developer Tools and Productivity

<p>Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It’s time to build.</p> <p>We are looking for a Software Engineer passionate about developer productivity, automation and continuous improvement, to accelerate the development of the first humanoid robot that will be manufactured and deployed at scale.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop tools and infrastructure to scale continuous software integration and deployment systems.</li> <li>Optimize build times, and help scale the execution of automated tests and analysis.</li> <li>Integrate new build toolchains and software components to support the next generations of humanoids.</li> <li>Improve tooling and processes to integrate third-party repositories.</li> <li>Provide developers with an easy-to-set-up development environment aimed at accelerating software development.</li> <li>Collaborate with all engineering teams to prioritize feature development, optimizations, and reliability improvements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.</li> <li>At least 7 years of industry experience.</li> <li>Mastery of configuration management using Git.</li> <li>Expertise with C++ and Python build and software integration tools (Bazel, CMake, Make, etc.).</li> <li>Proficient with scripting languages, including Python and Bash.</li> <li>Experience with one or more major cloud providers.</li> <li>Comfortable working with a broad range of continuous integration tools (GitHub, Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.) and deployment tools (Ansible, etc.).</li> <li>Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Linux, Docker, and microservices architectures.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Familiarity with Agile and test-driven development principles.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiar with web development languages and tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScripts…)</li> <li>Deep understanding of key and certificate management as well as cryptographic signing and verification.</li> </ul>
