**About the Role**
At Uber, our mission is to reimagine how the world moves for the better. As part of the Rider Science team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on the core mobility business and influence the experience for millions of riders. You’ll design experiments, develop models, and analyze user behavior to deepen our understanding of the mobility business and drive future growth.
The work we do is diverse: it includes experimentation, causal inference, ML modeling, and exploratory data analysis. You will collaborate with other scientists, product managers, engineers, and business teams to solve problems, answer longstanding questions, and raise new ones of your own.
One key area of interest is understanding how a rider’s current experiences with our product inform their long-term engagement with the product.
**What You'll Do**
Your insights will inform long term strategy by discovering new opportunities as well as helping prioritize and refine existing efforts. You will:
- Explore our rider data and carry out rigorous analysis to support your insights
- Design, run, and analyze experiments to test hypothesis about our riders
- Build models which could be applied in production to improve the rider experience or Uber’s business performance
- Tell a compelling story about your findings to stakeholders and executives
**Basic Qualifications**
- Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
- Minimum 6 years of industry experience in Data Science, Applied Science, or related roles, with a proven record of driving product impact.
- Deep expertise in Python or R, and statistical analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of experimentation and causal inference methodologies.
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership and executives.
