Our mission is to enable customers to access these resources securely. We develop Okta cloud services and client software that enable users to seamlessly log in to devices and use Okta authenticators to securely access applications. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in Java software development and be enthusiastic about writing server-side software and services. The role gives the candidate a high-visibility, hands-on opportunity to design solutions for current and emerging problems in the security and identity space.</p> <p>You will share our passion and pride in elegant solutions and join an engineering team that strongly believes in designing for scale, rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and an iterative process to build high-quality enterprise software. Here is an opportunity to work on rewarding security projects and emerging technologies.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What you’ll be doing </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Collaborate</strong> with cross-functional teams (QA, Product, Support, UX) for seamless delivery of Okta products and engineering initiatives.</li> <li><strong>Own the delivery</strong> of product and engineering requirements, as they are implemented in our core Java services.</li> <li>Follow best practices and <strong>contribute to technical designs</strong>, proposals, and architectural decisions.</li> <li><strong>Develop high-quality, maintainable software components</strong> with comprehensive unit/functional tests.</li> <li>Participate in code reviews, providing feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and security best practices.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll bring to the role</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of software development experience, designing and building server-side features with Java and Spring</li> <li>Experience with high-performance Postgres or MySQL environments </li> <li>Experience with REST API design</li> <li>Experience with server-side technologies, including caching, asynchronous processing, and multi-threading </li> <li>Good understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, and object-oriented principles.</li> <li>Experience working in fast-paced software development teams, leveraging continuous integration, testing tools, and deployment practices.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work across function</li> </ul> <p><strong>And extra credit if you ...
