Job Description

About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

Product Partnerships Lead, Life Sciences Healthcare

About the role

Life sciences and healthcare are among the most consequential domains for AI. The organizations in this space have complex workflows, rigorous compliance requirements, and stakeholders who can tell immediately whether you understand their world or not.

We're looking for a Life Sciences Healthcare Product Partnerships Lead who has lived inside Life Sciences Healthcare industry to own Anthropic's partnership strategy across pharma, biotech, health systems, life science tools, and academic medical centers — identifying the highest-impact organizations to work with, structuring collaborations that make sense for both sides, and serving as our internal expert on the sector.

This is not a Sales role. This role requires real domain understanding as you’ll be shoulder-to-shoulder with scientists and experts in the field to help determine commercial partnerships and playbooks. You'll build partnerships with RD leadership, scientists, and clinical stakeholders — conversations where credibility is earned through substance. We’re looking for someone with subject-matter expertise to be able to engage deeply with the people who do this work for a living.

What you'll do

Research and build critical strategic partnerships. Research, source, structure, and close strategic collaborations across the life sciences and healthcare ecosystem — working closely with internal teams to shape what we pursue and why.

Be the domain expert. Serve as Anthropic's internal voice on life sciences and healthcare — helping research, product, and leadership understand the landscape, evaluate opportunities, and make good calls.

Prioritize the ecosystem. Map the sector and sequence the highest-impact organizations to engage. Build a pipeline with a clear point of view on where to focus and where to say no.

Navigate complex organizations. Drive partnerships through RD, IT, legal, compliance, and procurement — with a realistic view of how these deals actually get done in regulated industries.

Enable integrations where relevant. Where partnerships include product or platform integrations, work with partner engineering teams and hold the quality bar.

Coordinate cross-functionally. Work across research, product, engineering, policy, and legal to structure partnerships that are compliant, deliverable, and valuable.

What we're looking for

Non-negotiable:

Meaningful experience with the life sciences or healthcare industry — pharma, biotech, health systems, life science tools, CROs, or clinical research. This is the single most important requirement. We need someone who can operate independently in this space from day one, not learn the industry on the job.

Scientific literacy. Enough depth to engage credibly with RD leaders and evaluate the substance of a potential collaboration — not just the commercials.

Partnerships, Business Development, or Alliance Management experience in life sciences or healthcare specifically, with a track record ...
