Legal isn’t a roadblock; it’s the Road to Yes.</p> <h2><strong>About the Role</strong></h2> <p>As Legal Compliance Manager, you will lead and mature Thumbtack’s privacy compliance program while supporting the development and execution of our AI compliance efforts during a period of rapid product evolution and increased AI adoption. This role sits within the Legal team and focuses on designing, operationalizing, and scaling compliance processes that align with our business model and evolving regulatory landscape. You will partner closely with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure compliance requirements are embedded into day-to-day operations and product development workflows. Your work will ensure our compliance program is measurable, durable, and built to scale alongside the business.</p> <h2><strong>What you'll do </strong></h2> <ul> <li>Lead and mature Thumbtack’s privacy and AI compliance programs to ensure they are well designed, effectively executed, and aligned with regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Own and operate core compliance processes, including DPIAs, regulatory audit workflows, data mapping, consent management, and AI governance.</li> <li>Partner cross-functionally to operationalize legal requirements through clear processes, controls, and project management.</li> <li>Track compliance commitments, identify gaps, and escalate risks appropriately to ensure timely resolution.</li> <li>Develop practical training, documentation, and guidance to increase awareness of privacy and AI compliance obligations across the organization.</li> <li>Continuously improve and streamline compliance processes as Thumbtack’s data use and AI capabilities evolve.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>In order to be successful, you must bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in privacy compliance, data governance, risk management, or related fields.</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of U.S. and global privacy laws and emerging AI regulatory frameworks.</li> <li>Experience leading complex, cross-functional compliance initiatives from planning through execution.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with DPIAs, privacy tooling, data mapping, consent management platforms, and system integrations.</li> <li>Solid understanding of compliance program management, internal controls, and risk assessment methodologies.</li> <li>Working knowledge of data systems, software development lifecycles, and operational workflows.</li> <li>Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for responsible AI.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Expected salary ranges</strong></h2> <ul> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">For candidates ...
