About the Internship
The Premier Support Team at Okta is seeking an Executive IT Support Engineer Intern to assist with providing world-class technical support to our executives and VIP users. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT operations, executive support, and cloud infrastructure while working closely with experienced IT professionals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, capable of troubleshooting complex issues, and passionate about working on high-profile projects. If you are passionate about IT, cloud technologies, and customer service, this internship offers hands-on experience with enterprise IT systems, cloud infrastructure, and the opportunity to drive impactful projects. You’ll gain valuable exposure to executive-level IT operations, mentorship from industry experts, and networking with key professionals.
What You’ll Get To Do
Executive IT VIP Support: Support Okta executives, Board members, and their Executive Assistants by troubleshooting hardware, software, identity and access management, and connectivity issues. Assist with device setup and lifecycle management (MacBooks, iPads, peripherals), and ensure executive readiness for meetings, travel, and high-visibility events. Help prepare and validate AV, conferencing, and workspace environments for critical meetings and leadership sessions. Leverage emerging AI-powered support tools to accelerate troubleshooting, surface knowledge, and improve resolution quality.
Premier Support Operations, Escalations Intelligent Triage: Participate in the Premier Support operating model by assisting with intake, prioritization, and resolution of executive IT requests. Learn how escalations are handled, how ownership is maintained across issues, and how high-impact problems are resolved quickly with minimal handoffs. Support the use of AI-assisted workflows for request triage, issue classification, and routing to improve response time and consistency.
AI, Automation Tooling Initiatives: Collaborate on strategic initiatives focused on AI-enabled support, automation, and next-generation service delivery. Assist with testing and improving AI-driven tools such as virtual support agents, automated workflows, and intelligent dashboards. Identify opportunities for AI to reduce manual work, enhance the executive experience, and improve operational efficiency through scripting, automation, or the integration of new technologies.
Testing, Documentation Knowledge Systems: Create and execute test cases for Premier Support workflows, automation, and AI-enabled tools to ensure reliability, security, and usability. Develop documentation, including user guides, internal runbooks, FAQs, and knowledge base articles. Contribute to building scalable, AI-supported knowledge systems that reduce repeat issues, improve first-contact resolution, and enable consistent white-glove service.
Inventory, Logistics Operational Support: Track IT assets and accessories, assist with device provisioning and redeployment, and support logistics for shipping, returns, and executive travel readiness.
