About the opportunity
The Dayforce Product Development team is looking for a skilled Software Developer to help build the industry’s next generation Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions.
As a developer on our Workforce Management team, you will contribute to our innovative solution that helps organizations improve efficiency through time and attendance tracking and intelligent employee scheduling. You will participate in key phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Working closely with product owners, designers, implementation teams, and fellow developers, you will help deliver high-quality features and enhancements that bring value to our customers.
You are passionate about building reliable, scalable software and are eager to grow your technical expertise while contributing to solutions used by thousands of organizations worldwide.
What you'll get to do
Strong understanding of object-oriented principles (SOLID) and experience applying them using C#/.NET (3+ years), including familiarity with async/await and LINQ.
Experience working with modern .NET (e.g., .NET 6 / 7/ 8) and supporting or maintaining existing .NET Framework applications.
Experience developing production user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks such as React and TypeScript (1–2+ years).
Working knowledge of modern web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, Web APIs, JSON, and RESTful services.
Solid SQL skills (SQL Server), including writing efficient queries and understanding indexing basics.
Exposure to cloud technologies and modern delivery practices, such as Docker and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps). Experience deploying to a major cloud platform (Azure/AWS/GCP) is an asset.
Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests (e.g., xUnit/NUnit/Jest), with a focus on code quality and maintainability.
Understanding of security fundamentals, including authentication/authorization concepts and secure handling of sensitive data.
AI-accelerated engineering: demonstrated use of AI developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codeium, Sourcegraph Cody, etc.) to increase velocity and quality—such as generating unit tests, assisting refactors, drafting PR summaries/runbooks, or composing queries/migrations. Be prepared to discuss measurable impact (cycle time, PR throughput, defect rate, coverage, or MTTR).
Skills and experience we value
Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Experience developing enterprise software applications.
Familiarity with ASP.NET Core/MVC and API development.
Understanding of concurrency and multi-threading concepts.
Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or caching technologies is a plus.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging practices in production environments.
Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and internationalization considerations.
Knowledge of Workforce Management or HCM concepts is an asset.
Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within an agile team.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
