Learn more about our flexible approach to where we work. Overview Instacart’s Strategic Finance team partners across the business to drive clarity, decisions, and results. Within our Retailer and Consumer pillar, we serve as the “CFO in the room” on high-impact initiatives and deliver the forecasts and insights that shape how we grow. We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to own monthly revenue forecasting for our retailer and consumer businesses—two of the largest areas of the PL representing billions of dollars annually—and to surface the trends and opportunities that keep us moving forward. In this role, you’ll join a close-knit team of 10 and report directly to the Director of Strategic Finance. You’ll collaborate daily with Business Development, Product, Data Science, and Accounting, and regularly engage with senior leadership. About the Job You will lead forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis that guide Instacart’s most critical revenue decisions. Own monthly retailer and consumer revenue forecasting end-to-end, building and maintaining driver-based models that tie to business performance and operational levers. Run monthly and quarterly variance analysis against forecast and plan; translate complex trends into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership. Develop executive-ready materials for the board and C-suite, including narrative memos, dashboards, and scenario analyses that inform strategic priorities. Partner cross-functionally with Business Development, Product, Data Science, and Accounting to align on assumptions, improve data quality, and operationalize insights. Lead proactive deep dives on revenue and unit economics to identify growth opportunities, risks, and experiments that improve accuracy and business outcomes. About You You combine rigorous financial modeling with crisp communication and executive presence. You’re energized by ambiguity, move quickly without sacrificing quality, and collaborate effectively across functions to get to the right answer. Minimum Qualifications 6+ years of experience in investment banking, strategic finance/FPA, or management consulting supporting high-growth technology or marketplace businesses. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including building driver-based financial models, scenario/sensitivity analyses, and revenue forecasting. Proven experience owning monthly forecasting and variance analysis for complex PL components, with a track record of improving forecast accuracy.
