Business Development Representative About HitPay HitPay is a full-stack payments infrastructure platform for growing businesses in APAC. Headquartered in Singapore and regulated by central banks across Southeast Asia, we enable over 20,000 SMBs to accept online and in-person payments through local methods that their customers trust. From real-time payment schemes to e-wallets and credit card terminals, HitPay is transforming how Southeast Asia pays. About the Role We're looking for a driven and personable Business Development Representative to grow and support our merchant base across Klang Valley. This is a ground-level, field-focused role where you'll be the face of HitPay to local businesses and helping them get set up, feel confident using our platform, and ultimately succeed with it. What You'll Do Merchant Acquisition & Outreach - Identify and approach potential merchants in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur through field visits, networking events, and expos - Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective merchants across F&B, retail, and services sectors - Represent HitPay at trade expos, bazaars, and industry events to generate leads and raise brand awareness Onboarding & Setup - Guide new merchants through the HitPay sign-up and onboarding process - Conduct on-site terminal installations and provide hands-on product demonstrations - Ensure merchants are confident and fully operational before handoff Merchant Success & Retention - Serve as the first point of contact for merchant queries and troubleshooting - Conduct regular check-ins to monitor merchant satisfaction and product adoption - Escalate technical issues and coordinate with internal teams for resolution Market Intelligence - Gather on-the-ground insights on merchant needs, competitor activity, and market trends - Share feedback from merchants to help improve HitPay's products and processes What We're Looking For Must-Have - 1–2 years of experience in sales, merchant services, business development, or a customer-facing role (fresh graduates with strong interpersonal skills are welcome to apply) - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a plus) - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage your own schedule - Comfortable with field work — you'll be out meeting merchants regularly - Own transport and valid Malaysian driving licence Nice-to-Have - Prior exposure to fintech, payments, POS systems, or SaaS products - Existing network within the F&B or retail space in Klang Valley - Experience attending trade fairs, expos, or industry events in a professional capacity
