About the opportunity A Development Manager builds and leads a high performing team that delivers great software to our customers. To thrive in this role, you have a proven technical background, work well in teams, and enjoy collaborating. The successful candidate will be comfortable talking about features with Product Managers or talking technical solutions and implementation details with Developers. What You’ll Get to Do Promote strong ownership and collaboration to increase productivity and engagement Evangelize good design and best practices, fostering excellence within the team Define the long-term vision for the team, aligned to company strategic and tactical goals Translate project goals and roadmaps into organized technical tasks Provide guidance and direction to overcome obstacles and keep initiatives moving forward Coach the team in their Agile software development journey and decision-making Coach and mentor team members through technical design sessions, code reviews, and pair programming Guide teams on the effective use of emerging AI technologies and industry practices Provide technical guidance and support in resolving critical production issues Guide the quality control process and test automation roadmap, ensuring high quality Provide leadership, coaching, and career development to individual contributors and technical professionals within the cross-functional team Lead the hiring process for new team members, ensuring a strong and cohesive team Collaborate successfully with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver new capabilities Cultivate a deep understanding of the application portfolio that we build Skills and Experience We Value Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field Experience in an Enterprise Software development company Experience developing high-performant and scalable systems Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams Experience evaluating and leveraging AI-assisted development tools Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C# Experience with modern web technologies, such as Angular, React, Vue Experience with Agile, test automation and best practices, builds and deployments Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong business and technical vision Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment What’s in it for you Dayforce is fueled by the diversity of our talented employees.
